Mid-South Skywarn Activation

Active during severe weather events

Mid-South Skywarn

The Midsouth Linked Repeater System is the official network of the Mid-South Skywarn Net, serving all 55 counties of the National Weather Service Memphis office. During severe weather, the WX4MEM net relays spotter observations and damage reports to forecasters.

  • Net control coordinates radio traffic and makes sure important reports are passed clearly.
  • Activation and deactivation criteria give the net structure as conditions change.
  • When Skywarn is active, keep the system clear for severe-weather traffic unless you have a report.
